We take care of your website migration
A website migration is one of the highest-risk events in your digital lifecycle. We make sure it doesn't cost you your rankings. Whether you're changing domain, switching CMS, restructuring your URLs, or rebranding entirely, we provide SEO oversight from day one through to post-launch monitoring, so nothing gets lost in the move.
A website migration done well is invisible. Your new site goes live, Google recrawls it, and rankings hold. Most businesses only discover how much can go wrong when it already has. A redirect mapped to the wrong URL, a staging environment left indexable, a canonical tag misconfigured on the new site; individually these are fixable, but discovered after launch they can wipe out years of accumulated authority with no guarantee of full recovery.
We work with B2B and international businesses across technical sectors including SaaS, cybersecurity, fintech, and enterprise software, and our in-house auditing and monitoring tool runs pre and post-migration, catching issues before they affect the live site and flagging problems the moment they appear after launch.

website migrations done right
What Is a Website Migration?
A website migration covers any significant change to your site’s structure, platform, domain, or content that has the potential to affect how search engines crawl, index, and rank your pages. The most common types are domain migrations, CMS or platform changes, URL restructures, site redesigns, and HTTPS migrations, though most real-world projects involve a combination of several at once.
Each type carries its own risk profile. A domain migration transfers all your accumulated authority to a new address and depends entirely on correct redirect implementation to do so without loss. A CMS migration can change how pages are rendered, how URLs are structured, and how internal links are built, all at once. A redesign can alter page templates, remove content that was ranking, and change the internal linking logic that passes authority around your site. Without SEO input at each stage, the development team makes decisions that seem sensible from a build perspective and create serious problems from a search perspective.
The earlier we’re involved, the less there is to fix after launch.
Our Website Migration Services
Every migration we manage is underpinned by our proprietary auditing and monitoring platform, which benchmarks your site before the migration begins, validates the new site before it goes live, and watches continuously in the weeks after launch to catch anything that needs correcting.
Pre-Migration Audit and Benchmarking
Before anything moves, we need a complete picture of where your site stands. We run a full audit of your current site using our proprietary tool, documenting your ranking keywords, top-performing pages, URL structure, backlink profile, and any existing technical issues that need to be resolved before or during the migration. This becomes the baseline we measure against after launch. It also surfaces opportunities: content gaps to fill, pages to consolidate, and structural improvements to build into the new site rather than simply replicating what existed before.
URL Mapping and Redirect Strategy
Every URL that changes during a migration needs a correctly implemented 301 redirect pointing to its new equivalent. A missing redirect loses the ranking authority accumulated by that page. A redirect to the wrong destination sends both users and Google somewhere they didn't intend to go. A chain of multiple redirects dilutes the authority passed along with each hop. We map every URL on your current site, match each one to its new destination, and produce a complete redirect specification ready for your development team to implement. We then validate the implementation before launch to make sure every redirect is working correctly and no chains or loops have crept in.
Staging Site Validation
Going live without validating the staging site is one of the most common and most costly migration mistakes. We audit the staging environment in full before launch: checking that the noindex tag blocking the staging site from Google has been removed correctly, verifying redirect implementation, checking internal links, validating canonical tags, testing structured data, and assessing page speed on the new templates. Issues caught at this stage cost minutes to fix. The same issues discovered after launch cost weeks of recovery time.
Post-Launch Monitoring and Recovery
The migration going live is not the end of the project. Google recrawls your new site on its own schedule and reassesses your pages against the changes it finds. Our monitoring tool watches the new site continuously in the weeks after launch, tracking indexation status, crawl health, Core Web Vitals, ranking movements, and any new technical issues that emerge. If something goes wrong, we identify it fast and address it before it compounds. Monthly reporting covers migration progress and ranking recovery throughout the post-launch period.
CMS and Platform Migrations
Moving from one CMS or platform to another introduces specific SEO risks that vary significantly by platform. URL structures change, page templates change, how content is rendered changes, and internal linking logic often changes entirely. We provide SEO oversight throughout CMS migrations across all major platforms, working alongside your development team to make sure the new build doesn't create indexation problems, duplicate content, or speed regressions that the old site didn't have.
International and Multi-Domain Migrations
For B2B and international businesses operating across multiple markets or domains, migrations carry additional complexity. Hreflang implementation, subdomain and subdirectory decisions, multi-language redirect mapping, and international crawl budget management all need to be handled correctly and in the right order. We have specific experience managing multi-domain and international migrations for businesses with complex regional structures, including rebrands that require moving audiences and authority from legacy domains to new ones without visibility loss.
Why Migration timing matters
Get us involved early
The cost of SEO input during a migration is a fraction of the cost of recovering from a migration gone wrong. Businesses that bring us in at the scoping stage get a migration plan that accounts for search from the start. Those that bring us in post-launch are starting a recovery conversation.
Development and SEO need to work together
Most migrations fail because development teams make technically reasonable decisions that have serious SEO consequences nobody flagged in time. We work directly alongside your developers and project managers throughout, providing SEO specifications at each stage rather than reviewing decisions after they’ve already been built.
Post-launch is where most problems appear
Google doesn’t recrawl your new site the moment it goes live. Rankings fluctuate for weeks after a migration as search engines reassess your pages. Our monitoring runs continuously through this period, catching issues as they surface rather than discovering them in a rankings report a month later.
Ready to lead in the new search frontier?
AI in SEO is not a trend. It’s the logical evolution of how people find and trust information.
The earlier you start, the more likely you are to become the online store the search engines and LLMs go to. We’re here to make that happen.

What You Can Expect From Working With Us
We scope every migration individually before quoting, because the complexity and risk profile vary significantly depending on what’s changing. A domain migration for a 500-page B2B site is a different project to a CMS migration for an enterprise platform with thousands of URLs and international hreflang implementation. Once we understand what’s involved, we provide a clear project plan covering each stage, what we deliver at each point, and what your development team needs from us and from us from them.
Our monitoring tool runs throughout the engagement, from pre-migration baseline through to post-launch recovery. You’ll receive reporting at each stage and immediate flagging if our tool surfaces anything that needs urgent attention after launch.

Website Migration FAQs
Some fluctuation is normal as Google, other search engines and LLMs recrawl your site and reassesses your pages against the changes. The goal of good migration management is to make that fluctuation minimal and temporary rather than significant and prolonged. Rankings for well-managed migrations typically stabilise within four to eight weeks of launch. Poorly managed migrations can take months to recover from, and some never fully do.
As early as possible. Ideally before the new site is built, so we can input on URL structure, site architecture, and template decisions from the start. If you’re already mid-build, bring us in immediately. The later we join, the more we’re correcting decisions already made rather than shaping them from the start.
We work alongside your development team or agency. We provide SEO specifications, validate their implementation, and advise on decisions with SEO implications throughout the build. We don’t run the development itself, but we stay close enough to the process to catch problems before they go live.
Domain migrations, CMS and platform migrations, URL restructures, site redesigns, HTTPS migrations, and international or multi-domain migrations. Most real-world projects involve several of these simultaneously, which is where the risk compounds and where having specialist oversight matters most.
We can help. Post-migration recovery starts with a forensic audit of what changed and what the likely cause of the drop is, followed by a prioritised remediation plan. The sooner you act after a migration-related drop, the faster recovery tends to be.
Our proprietary platform benchmarks your site before migration, validates the staging environment before launch, and monitors the live site continuously in the weeks after. It tracks indexation status, crawl health, Core Web Vitals, and ranking movements, and flags issues immediately rather than surfacing them in a monthly report.
